"To forget a holocaust is to kill twice"

Background:

To cut a long story short, some time ago, Cranko Pop asked us to put some dark vocals over a track. We then took the suggested base track, edited it, reworked it, mastered it, and put vocals over it. That track became Her (Prof. Morash Crows Edit)

The words were an original piece on "An Gorta Mór" or The Great Famine of Ireland 1845 - 1852.

In a desire to make sure the words were as period correct as possible, we contacted Prof. Christopher Morash (Seamus Heaney Professor of Irish Writing, Head of School, Trinity College, Dublin). Prof. Morash very kindly agreed to edit and proof the piece.

A little later Prof. Morash asked if it would be possible to get a copy for a keynote lecture he was delivering at:
The Great Famine and its Impacts: Visual and Material Culture conference held Maynooth University, Ireland, 14-16 March 2016.

After a recording process that resembled the film Clockwise, we got a copy to Prof. Morash at close to the eleventy hour and to our delight, he used the entire track in the keynote.

That version of the track was titled Professor Morash's Crows edit.
Other versions followed and words were left over, but we decided to get a small thing together while we worked on the other larger thing. So to speak. As there was a chance if we didn't, neither thing would ever see the light beyond the curtain.

Later Cranko Pop started sending us holocaust denial material.
To put it simply, we hate Nazis, white supremacists, white nationalists, extremists, and in particular those who would deny the holocaust, particularly on a release centering on famine, and one so devastating as the Great Irish Famine

In Primo Levi’s words: “Those who deny Auschwitz would be ready to remake it.”

This led to us first deleting it from our visible catalogue, and then putting it back with Crank Pop bits removed.

Disgusted at our collaborator, and after some discussion on what to do, we reached out to the Auschwitz Memorial, and asked them if they would like, and allow us to put the track back with all profits going to the Auschwitz Memorial.

Thankfully, they said yes, and we are now able to re-present the EP Her, intact.

After Bandcamp take their automatic cut, all profits go immediately to the Auschwitz Memorial.
